Mitchell Channon Design wins ASID Design Excellence Award

Mitchell Channon Design found itself among the best of the best at last month’s 6th Annual Design Excellence Awards for the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). In an intense competition with other Illinois design firms, a panel of distinguished industry professionals bestowed the award to Mitchell Channon Design in the Single Residential Room category for his Lakefront Project Living Room. In response to the complex requirements of the owners, Mitchell ingeniously used balance and scale to accentuate light and space in the room, while joining modern and traditional elements through the use of geometric forms. The owners’ contemporary art collection found a perfect home in the subtle interplay of multiple design solutions. No wonder the judges cited Mitchell’s work as among “…some of the hottest design work we have seen in 2009.”
