ASID Awards Mitchell Channon Design 2014 Design Excellence Award

Published: September 15th, 2014

A wonderful  evening became even better when, for the second year in a row, the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) awarded our firm their Design Excellence Award at its annual awards Gala. The event, held September 12th in the breathtaking ballroom at the newly-opened Langham Hotel in downtown Chicago, honors “distinctive and exceptional work within the design community.” Each year, designers submit their entries in residential, contract, and product design categories. The blind competition is judged by a panel of recognized leaders in the interior design industry. Our “Millennium Park” project was named Best Residential Design under 3000 sq. ft. The home overlooks such architectural gems as Frank Gehry’s Pritzker Pavilion and Aqua, a hi-rise by Chicago architect Jeanne Gang. These served as inspiration for the home’s architecture and furnishings.

Click here to see photos of the finished project on our website. While there, you can also view a series of brief videos in which I take you through our entire design process for this project, from conceptualization to completion. Check it out here.

Here are some photos from the event.   Our thanks to ASID for a wonderful evening, to the wonderful trades professionals with whom I work, and special thanks to my long-standing clients for the opportunity to design their home!
