New Year — New Products to Love!

Published: January 24th, 2018

Nothing gets a Chicago interior designer through the doldrums of winter better than the opportunity to shop for some of the hottest products in home furnishings. A spacious, residential project in Lincoln Park in particular has me on the hunt for something fresh. Here’s what I’m loving:

This free-spirited rug is perfectly inviting for a modern foyer, don’t you think? It’s asymmetrical angles and offbeat neutrals and pastels breathe life into any space.

I saw this dramatic pendant fixture in a restaurant in Berlin. The juxtaposition of a super-thin form with its large scale is stunning. Add to that the ingenious fusion of a gold leaf finish on a modern structure and I am sold!

By enlarging the scale, this stunning wood veneer wall covering rejuvenates a classic chevron pattern. Grand indeed!

I love how this rug is layered with colors (charcoals, camels, and blues) but reads as neutral. A muted geometric pattern interlaced with simple bands of color adds to its wonderful complexity.

This playful and imaginative ceiling fixture is so compelling! Each individual globe is faceted, machined and geometric, but their seemingly random arrangement creates something weightless and organic. Makes me think of Japanese lanterns or musical notes suspended in the air. What do you see?

Coming across innovative products like these thrills me. What a beautiful start to the year!
